The cam driven Compound Engine

 

Compound Engine

This engine first developed in 2002 is utilizing the two diameter piston for improved scavenging of cylinder and the swash plate cam drive that allows the piston stop to occur at both ends of the stroke for more complete combustion.

This project is for the conversion of the standard Lycoming engine to the Compound Engine configuration by replacing the conventional Lycoming cylinders and pistons with the two diameter Compound Pistons and the Compound Engine cylinders.
